Brighton and Hove Albion winger Jamie Murphy has completed a permanent move to Glasgow Rangers and signed a three-year deal at Ibrox.
Murphy joined the Scottish Premier League side on loan in January, with the move expected to become permanent when the summer transfer window opened.
The 28-year-old was one of 10 summer signings in 2015 when Chris Hughton was preparing for his first full season in charge.
Murphy joined from Sheffield United and was part of the squad that came close to going up in 2015-16, a year before Albion eventually secured promotion a year ago.
The former Motherwell winger found first-team opportunities restricted this season and was limited to just four appearances in the Premier League.
At the time of his loan move, Hughton said: “Jamie is a great lad, a fantastic professional and has a desire to play – and while we were in no hurry to see him leave, we do understand his desire to play for his boyhood team and one of the biggest clubs in Scotland.
“He’s been excellent for the club, ever since we signed him from Sheffield United, and wrote himself into club folklore as a crucial part of our promotion-winning side last season.
“On behalf of all at the club, I’d like to thank Jamie for his efforts and achievements during his time here and wish him the very best for the future.”
