Bunting and banners celebrating some of the city’s best known landmarks have been put up around Brighton centre by a consortium of local retailers and businesses.
The banners, which feature The Lanes, the West Pier, the Royal Pavilion, the i360 and beach huts among other attractions, have been produced by Brilliant Brighton, of which 517 city businesses are members.
The organisation also organise the cheerful bunting displayed in North Laine and The Lanes and floral hanging baskets, arranged throughout the city centre, to brighten up the streets during the summer months for visitors, holidaymakers and residents alike to enjoy.
Gavin Stewart, CEO of Brilliant Brighton said: ““This year we wanted to celebrate all that was brilliant about Brighton; from the independent shops of North Laine and The Lanes, to the city’s inspiring arts culture with Brighton Dome and its beautiful regency architecture, depicted by banners including images of Brighton Bandstand and the Royal Pavilion.
“We hope that, with their bright, bold and beautiful colours, the summer artwork will make people smile and encourage them to enjoy all our seaside city has to offer – whether they’re first time visitors or longstanding residents.”
The banners will be adorning Western Road and North Street until September.
