Fazerdaze has unfortunately cancelled her forthcoming tour

UPDATE – MESSAGE FROM AMELIA FROM FAZERDAZE:

Hello Everyone,
I’m sorry to say that I have decided to cancel the up and coming UK and Germany shows.
This has been a very difficult decision to make, but for my own health/wellbeing I need to take a break from touring and work on the new material. Sincere apologies to all of my fans that have bought tickets. These can be refunded from their point of purchase. Thank you all for your support, I will be back and seeing you all again soon.
Lots of love,
Amelia

New Zealand-based singer/songwriter Amelia Murray and her band are collectively known as Fazerdaze and they specialise in echo-drenched semi-electronic modern day pop songs.

The Brighton & Hove News music team have been fortunate enough to have seen Fazerdaze perform live twice before in Brighton. Firstly in the Queens Hotel on the 18th May last year as part of The Great Escape festival and then five months later at Sticky Mike’s Frog Bar on 6th October – and now they are returning to these shores as part of a 14 UK and Germany tour, which includes at Brighton concert date.

Amelia Murray aka Fazerdaze

Amelia was raised in Wellington, New Zealand and attended the University of Auckland, where she began releasing her lackadaisical, echo-bathed pop songs under the name Fazerdaze in October 2014, with her eponymous debut six song extended play. The EP quickly took flight, receiving critical acclaim from blogs and publications around the globe. It was referred to as a succinct collection of intimate, beautifully produced dream-pop written, produced and performed by Murray.

Murray’s sound specialises in psychedelic dreaminess with low key production quality which is made with modern synths and other electronic touches. Thus her debut album (that I bought) ‘Morningside’ totally reflects this. With standout tracks being ‘Little Uneasy’, the uptempo ‘Lucky Girl’ and the Femme Fatale-esque ‘Jennifer’.

Amelia Murray aka Fazerdaze

It’s been an incredible 18 months for Fazerdaze aka Amelia Murray. Having released her critically acclaimed debut album ‘Morningside’ on cult indie label Flying Nun she has sold out debut shows across every single continent, been part of the Red Bull Music Academy with Bjork, graced festival stages across the world and been nominated for numerous awards in her native New Zealand. Fazerdaze’s effortless sounding bedroom pop delivers bright melodies and earworms drenched in reverb.
