A Brighton drug dealer whose substantial stash was discovered by officers investigating the theft of a bike has been jailed for four years.
Anthony Luke Breen, 48, unemployed, of Devonshire Place, Brighton, was sentenced at Hove Crown Court on Monday (12 March) after pleading guilty to five offences. The estimated street value of the drugs involved was between £11,458 and £14.372.
Breen admitted possessing controlled drugs with intent to supply afterpolice went to his home address to arrest him on suspicion of stealing a pedal cycle from Brighton Marina on Thursday, 8 March.
While searching the address officers found and seized 100.41 grams of cocaine, 174 MDMA (ecstasy) tablets, 6.68 grams of ketamine, 2.7771 grams of propylone and £3,080 in cash.
Judge Christine Henson ordered that the drugs be destroyed and the cash forfeited.
Following the sentencing, Detective Constable Tom Duffy, of Brighton investigations, said: “Sussex Police is committed to disrupting the supply of drugs within Brighton and Hove. This sentence shows that anyone convicted of dealing drugs in the city can expect a lengthy jail term.”
