A 15-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with stealing a 650cc BMW motorbike and riding it through Brighton.
Sussex Police said: “A teenager has been arrested and charged with stealing a BMW motorcycle from Preston Road, Brighton.
“Police released a CCTV image of three suspects riding the 650cc motorbike around the Vogue Gyratory in Lewes Road and made an appeal for information to identify those involved.
“The 15-year-old Brighton boy, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, has also been charged with driving with no licence, no insurance, no helmet and carrying more than one passenger on the bike on (Friday) 2 February and breaching court bail conditions.
“He appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (27 February) and was released on conditional bail to appear at Worthing Youth Court on (Thursday) 22 March.
“A 16-year-old boy was also arrested in connection with the incident.
“He was detained on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking, being carried in a vehicle without the owner’s consent, making off without paying and riding a motorcycle on a road and failing to wear protective headgear.
“He has been released under investigation.
