The three Hangleton and Knoll Ward councillors have thanked local businesses for donating more than £3,000 to pay for Christmas parties for pensioners.
Dawn Barnett, Tony Janio and Nick Lewry work with local firms and traders each year to fund the annual treats.
The three councillors said: “As promised, the Christmas parties this year were held at Hangleton for the Get Together Club, Churchill House and a party at St Richard’s for the elderly residents of Hangleton and Knoll.”
Mayor Mo Marsh attended the event at Churchill House, in Hangleton Road, Hove.
The remaining balance, totalling £1,875, was given to community groups and activities in amounts ranging from £75 to £200.
They included the Brighton and Hove Stammering Support Group, Forget Me Nots, Short Mat Bowls, Tai Chi 50+ and a local food bank.
Others to benefit from the overall sum, which totalled £3,085, included a community lunch club, singing group and Crafty Adults.
Separately, the Hangleton and Knoll Project is looking for volunteers to help out at the Pavilion Café in Knoll Park.
