The Whitehawk Road Post Office is to open for longer from next month following a refurb last autumn.
The post office will close for a day from noon on Wednesday, 7 March before opening the following afternoon with the longer hours, increasing to seven days a week with more than 14 hours extra time across the week.
And car tax renewal and a wider selection of travel money on demand will also be added to the wide range of services already available.
The grand opening is at 1pm on Thursday, 8 March.
Peter Wilkinson, Post Office Area Manager, said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.
“We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs.
“This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and will secure services for the future.”
The main counters will be open Monday to Saturday: 9am – 5.30pm and the Post Office service points will be open Monday to Saturday: 7am – 6pm; Sunday: 9am – 12 noon.
Alternative branches while the post office is closed include St Georges Road Post Office and Whitehawk Avenue Post Office in Whitehawk Way.
