Last November, the Brighton & Hove News were fortunate enough to catch a live set from local garage rock duo ARXX at The Haunt supporting PINS.
ARXX who broke on to the scene in early 2014 are two women with one big sound, namely Hannah Pidduck (vocals/guitar) and Clara Townsend (drums). They marry together an eclectic range of influences stemming from punk, blues, soul, and garage rock. We reported that “their half hour set went down rather well with the punters. There sure was quite a bit of energy coming from the stage especially as there was just the two of them”.
The 23rd February will be an important day for the duo as they will be unleashing their brand new EP (on CD format and streaming/online platforms) and having a Launch Party the same day at The Quadrant right by the Clock Tower in Brighton from 19:30-23:00.
The songs on the six-track EP are: ‘Moments at a Time’, ‘Intervention’, ‘Stuck on You’, ‘The Cat Song’, ‘Tired of You’ and ‘Masters of Device’.
They are joined buy some of their fave bands and they say ‘It’s going to be a magical evening! ‘ Other bands on the bill are: Sit Down (A powerhouse two piece), Militant Girlfriend (A dreamy melodic punk trio) and Beth White (Feisty acoustic punk playing badass pop). Entry is £3 on the door (that’s a mere 75p per act!) or you can purchase them beforehand here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/arxx-ep-launch-party-at-the-quadrant-tickets-42498244393?aff=efbeventtix
