An 88-year-old pensioner on foot was badly hurt in a crash in Hove.
Sussex Police issued an appeal for witnesses this morning (Sunday 14 January).
The force said: “Police are seeking witnesses to a collision between a car and a pedestrian in Hove on Friday afternoon (12 January).
“It happened at around 4.35pm on Friday at the junction of Richardson Road and New Church Road, Hove.
“It involved a silver Ford Fiesta car and an 88-year-old man on foot.
“The man, from Hove, sustained serious head injuries and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.
“The car driver, a 31-year-old man also from Hove, was unhurt.
“Anyone who saw what happened is asked to contact police online or phone 101, quoting Operation Code.”
I always thought that New Church Road should be 20 mph too. And Portland Road.
