A charitable trust is encouraging community groups in some of the poorer parts of Brighton to apply for grants as a funding round deadline looms.
East Brighton Trust said: “Small grants of up to £500 are available to groups in Moulsecoomb, Bates Estate, Saunders Park, Manor Farm, Whitehawk, Craven Vale, Bristol Estate and Higher Bevendean.
“We are proud to have awarded over £500,000 to date – helping fund very many local good causes through our small grants programme.
“Find out about some of the projects we have funded on our website.”
Applications are handled by staff at the Sussex Community Foundation although the East Brighton Trust said: “If you have received or are applying for funding via Sussex Community Foundation from another fund then you are still eligible to apply for an award from this small grants fund.
“A group can only receive one grant from East Brighton Trust in any 12-month period.
“If you have received funding from us before, you are not eligible to receive another grant until feedback on the former grant has been received.”
The trust added: “If you are applying in our current round of small grants, please make sure you submit your application by 5pm next Friday (12 January).
Help with applications is available from the Sussex Community Foundation or from the Resource Centre, a Brighton charity.
