A man needed hospital treatment after a robbery on Brighton seafront on Christmas Day, Sussex Police said today (Thursday 28 December).
The force said: “Police are appealing for witnesses to a robbery that occurred on the upper promenade, King’s Road, Brighton, opposite the Metropole Hotel, on Christmas Day.
“The victim, a local man in his thirties, was walking home having celebrated Christmas with his family when the robbery took place between 10pm and 10.30pm.
“He sustained significant head and facial injuries that required hospital treatment, and had his mobile phone and some cash stolen.
“Three people are suspected of carrying out the robbery.
“The first is described as a white man, aged 35 to 45, around 6ft and of medium build. He was unshaven with dark hair. He was wearing dark ‘winter’ clothing. He was also described as having an eastern European accent.
“The second suspect is described as a white man, aged 35 to 45, more than 6’ft tall and of stocky build.
“The third suspect is described as a white woman, about 5ft 6in and with shoulder-length dark hair.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have other information is asked to report details online or by calling 101, quoting serial 872 of 25/12.
