Albion set a new sales record as the Amex retail store and on line sales capped the best ever week , with the trend expected to continue over the festive period.
The turnover at the American Express Community Stadium store, Albion’s pop-up shop at Churchill Square and online retail site seagullsdirect.co.uk, smashed records with an uplift of more than 50% on last year’s trading on Black Friday
Earlier in the week, more than 1500 shirts were sold in just three days, after the latest delivery of home shirts arrived from Nike in time for the Stoke City match – and took sales of the home shirt beyond 500% of any other previous replica shirt.
Chief executive Paul Barber said, “It’s fantastic to see the team’s progress on the pitch being matched off it by these tremendous figures being delivered by the club’s retail team.
“They have had a phenomenal week and I would like to thank them for their incredible efforts and hard work over the past week. We know we have a few busy weeks ahead, as people continue to get ready for the Christmas period.”
Albion’s first-team were unlucky not to come away with a point from Old Trafford on Saturday as they were narrowly beaten by Manchester United.
