A would-be armed robber was foiled by staff when he tried to hold up a betting shop in Brighton last night (Thursday 23 November).
The knife-wielding man went into BetFred in Lewes Road last night but fled empty-handed.
Sussex Police issued a plea for witnesses to come forward this morning (Friday 24 November).
The force said: “Police are appealing for witnesses after a man attempted to rob a Brighton betting shop with a knife.
“The incident occurred in Lewes Road at 8.15pm on Thursday 23 November when a man entered the shop and demanded money from the till.
“The suspect is described as a white man, 6ft and of slim build.
“He was wearing dark trousers, a grey hooded top with the hood up and black trainers with white laces.
“No injuries occurred and the suspect left empty-handed.
“If you have any information please report online or call 101 quoting reference 1379 of 23/11.”
