A man has been treated in hospital after being coshed, possibly with a hammer, in a fight in Brighton earlier today (Tuesday 29 August).
A second man has been arrested and questioned about the fight which happened in May Road where a shotgun was fired through the window of a flat almost three weeks ago.
The incidents are not believed to be related.
Sussex Police said: “At 12.13am on Tuesday 29 August police were called to a flat in May Road, Brighton, after reports of a fight.
“A 40-year-old Brighton man sustained a head injury, believed to have been caused by a blunt instrument, and was treated at the Royal Sussex County Hospital before being discharged later the same morning.
“A 44-year-old man, also from Brighton, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and after being interviewed was released under investigation.
“Inquiries are continuing and the full circumstances have yet to be established.
