Leicester City 2 Brighton & Hove Albion 0
Albion lost their first Premier League away match after conceding a Shinji Okazaki goal after just 52 seconds.
Okazaki seized on a loose ball after Seagulls keeper Maty Ryan fumbled a shot from Riyad Mahrez.
Wes Morgan had a great chance to double Leicester’s lead but planted his header wide.
Albion did have the ball in the net but Glenn Murray was adjudged to be offside.
In the second half Albion did manage to maintain possession and take the game to Leicester but when a corner from Mahrez was headed home by Harry Maguire the contest was effectively over.
Albion’s chances were few and far between. Tomer Hemed forced a good save from Kasper Schmeichel with a crisp drive.
Albion slip in to the relegation zone for now.
Match day 2 of the Premier League concludes with Tottenham v Chelsea at Wembley tomorrow afternoon.
Conceivably Chelsea could drop below Albion tomorrow and the Seagulls could move back out of the relegation zone.
