A 15-year-old girl faces court after being charged with carrying out a drunken assault on an ambulance paramedic at a pub in Hove.
The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was believed to have collapsed in the toilets at the Grenadier pub in Hangleton Road.
Sussex Police said: “Police were called by ambulance paramedics after they responded to a report of a 15-year-old girl found drunk in the toilets of the Grenadier pub in Hangleton Road, Hove, at 8.15pm on Friday (30 June).
“The girl was abusive towards the ambulance crew and assaulted one of the paramedics.
“She was also alleged to have stolen two bottles of wine from the nearby Co-op store in The Parade before she went into the pub to use the toilets.
“She was arrested on suspicion of assault and theft and taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital to be treated for intoxication.
“She was later taken to custody, questioned and charged with assault and theft.
“She has been bailed to appear at Worthing Youth Court on (Thursday) 20 July.”
