Two men have been arrested over a five-hour siege in Brighton this morning (Monday 19 June).
The stand-off with armed police, in Whitehawk Close, ended at about 9.30am, with the arrest of a 36-year-old man.
Sussex Police said: “A man has been arrested following an incident in Brighton this morning.
“Shortly after 4am police were called to a disturbance at a house in Whitehawk Close.
“Armed officers arrived at the scene and the man initially refused to come out of the property.
“However, after several hours of negotiating, he agreed to exit the house and engage with officers.
“The 36-year-old, from Brighton, was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray.
“A 20-year-old man from Brighton was also arrested at the scene on suspicion of obstructing police.
“Both men remain in police custody at this stage.”
