Brighton tap dancers TapTastik will take the stage in the live semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent this coming week on ITV 1.
Despite being 100/1 outsiders for the 2017 crown, the performers are optimistic about their chances.
Brighton and Hove News caught up with TapTastik member and former Hove Park School pupil and local journalist Helen Sandford.
Mrs Sandford told us: “We are all really excited. We are basically just a weekly tap group – the group is made up of all sorts of ladies of various ages, from 21 to 64. Mothers and even one grandmother. We all live and work locally, from shop owners, nurses and students. We never dreamed we would have this wonderful experience”
The group is led by choreographer Drew Wood. They were voted through, eventually, in the first heat by all the judges, except Simon Cowell.

The winners of this year’s contest will perform at the Royal Variety Performance in November in front of the Queen and other dignitaries.
