Wolverhampton Wanderers 0 Brighton & Hove Albion 2
Albion require one more victory for promotion to the Premier League.
Anthony Knockaert’s brace at Molineux ensures that if the Seagulls can beat Wigan Athletic at the Amex on Easter Monday (17 April) they will win promotion unless Huddersfield win each of their remaining matches by an average of 5 clear goals.
And Albion don’t manage a single point in their last four matches including the hugely anticipated last home match against Bristol City on Saturday 29 April.
Albion started slowly although Tomer Hemed hit the bar midway through the first half.
Knockaert scored during an Albion counter-attack right on half time and bagged a second with eight minutes left after good work from Seb Pocognoli.
Wolves had chances with Ivan Cavaleiro and Andreas Weimann forcing brilliant saves from David Stockdale.
It was Albion’s 27th League win of the season.
