A man from Brighton has been banned from the road for being over the drug driving limit for cannabis.
Matheus Galante, 23, of Highleigh, Grove Hill, Brighton, pleaded guilty to the charge at Worthing Magistrates’ Court.
Sussex Police caught Galante as he drove an Audi along Lodge Lane, Hassocks, in September last year.
He had 2.5 micrograms of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol – the primary psychoactive ingredient in most types of marijuana plant – in 100 millilitres of his blood. The legal limit is 2 micrograms.
At court he was banned from driving for a year, fined £350 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £35 and prosecution costs of £85.
