Brentford 3 Brighton & Hove Albion 3
Albion literally stole a vital point at Griffin Park with a 97th minute equaliser.
Jota and Harlee Dean put the Bees 2-0 ahead inside 22 minutes.
And that is how it stayed until half time.
Albion showed more promise in the second half until stand-in centre back Uwe Hünemeier conceded a penalty after he clattered into Jota.
Then, surely a turning point in the season, David Stockdale beat away Lasse Vibe’s spot kick – his second such save in the past three weeks.
This inspired the Seagulls and with 20 minutes left to play, second half substitute Solly March pulled a goal back for Albion.
March really was making difference just as he did against Birmingham.
Three minutes later Shane Duffy equalised to send Albion fans behind the goal delirious.
Albion had chances to take the lead. Hemed had a clear-cut header which looped over from a yard out and a shot from March was deflected on to the bar.
Albion hearts were almost broken as Konstantin Kerschbaumer put Brentford back in front on 90 minutes.
But as if to atone for his earlier miss, Hemed headed Albion level again, right at the death.
The Seagulls next take on Burton Albion on Saturday (11 February) at the Amex.
