A mugger armed with a knife robbed a Brighton man near the seafront in the early hours of Wednesday morning (11 January).
Sussex Police said: “At around 3am on Wednesday a man was walking home along the southern end of Upper Rock Gardens in the vicinity of St Mary’s Church when he was threatened by a man with a knife.
“The suspect demanded money, which the victim handed over, before pushing him to the chest.
“He then threatened him with a knife and demanded more cash, the victim’s phone and bank card.
“The victim gave him more money before managing to push the suspect and run away.”
Detective Constable Aaron Halsey said: “Thankfully the victim was not injured during this frightening attack in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
“Despite officers carrying out an extensive search of the area the suspect was not located and police are now asking for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen something to get in touch.
“The suspect, who is described as white, approximately 25 years old and of skinny build, was wearing black trousers, a dark coloured hoody and a black baseball cap.”
