A 16-year-old girl from Hove has been missing since New Year’s Eve.
She was reported missing on Tuesday (3 January) and Sussex Police issued a public appeal for help in finding her today (Friday 6 January).
The force said: “Police are concerned about the welfare of 16-year-old Ella Sears, who was reported missing from her home in Hove earlier in the week.
“Ella was last seen in Brighton before setting off to attend a New Year’s Eve party in Oxted, Surrey, and is known to have contacts in both Surrey and Sussex.
“She was known to have £20 cash in her possession and was supposed to be accompanying a friend called Anna. But it is not known if she did so or where she is now. She was reported missing on Tuesday (3 January).
“She is described as white, 5ft 3in, of slim/medium build and has brown shoulder-length hair partially dyed red.
“She was last seen wearing a red Puffa jacket and black jeans and carrying a black backpack.”
Brighton and Hove missing persons co-ordinator Vicky Morris said: “We are obviously concerned for Ella because of her age.
“She’s not in any trouble but we do need her – or anyone who has seen her or who may know where she is – to get in touch as soon as possible so that we know she’s okay.”
