Birmingham City 1 Brighton & Hove Albion 2
Albion came back from a goal down to steal an injury time winner at St Andrew’s.
After a goalless first half Lukas Jutkiewicz scored with a header when Dale Stephens gave the ball away in midfield.
But the game turned on Chris Hughton’s inspired substitutions as Tomer Hemed and Solly March replaced Steve Sidwell and Sam Baldock.
Anthony Knockaert refound his scoring touch to curl Albion back into the match with eight minutes left.
And it was March’s determination and skill that bagged Albion’s all three points.
March gave Jonathan Spector such a torrid time that the Birmingham defender was replaced by Paul Robinson.
In the last minute of stoppage time Shane Duffy had a header cleared off the line.
But it was March’s persistence that helped Albion win an injury time corner. This saw Knockaert cross in for Murray to score with his head with the last touch of the match.
Albion stay second and are eight points clear of Reading in third and one point behind Newcastle who lead the Championship.
Next for Albion, QPR at the Amex on Tuesday 27 December at 12.30pm and again on Sky.
