Blackburn Rovers 2 Brighton & Hove Albion 3
Albion go back to the top of the football league after a super win over Blackburn.
Goals from Shane Duffy, Dale Stephens and Glenn Murray’s first away goal of the season, saw Albion have to weather a late Rovers fight back.
At 0-2 Liam Feeney pulled a goal back for Blackburn, but Murray got a third for Albion with eleven minutes left . Sam Gallagher got an injury time second for Rovers.
It was a particular sweet first Albion goal for Duffy, who scored 3 own goals for Blackburn earlier this season. Duffy effectively replaced former Albion captain Gordon Greer who now plays for Blackburn. In contrast he was sent off in the game.
Albion next take on Birmingham at St Andrews. On Saturday 17th Dec at 5:30pm
Newcastle currently 2nd in the Championship, visit Wigan on Wednesday 14th Dec.
But more importantly Albion are now 8 points clear of Reading in third place and have a better goal difference of 20 plus goals.
