Dozens of children at a special school in Brighton have been treated to a slap up Christmas lunch thanks to a local cab firm and a seafront restaurant.
A fleet of drivers from City Cabs chauffeured youngsters from Downs View School, in Warren Road, Woodingdean, to the Brighton seafront diner Buddies.
They were greeted by the Santa bus – laid on by Brighton and Hove Buses – and the mayor of Brighton and Hove Pete West.
Teenagers at the Downs View Link College will also get to enjoy the annual treat.
Over three days, about 200 youngsters and staff will have a Buddies Christmas lunch, with City Cabs boss Andy Cheesman, who also runs the restaurant, saying: “We love laying on Christmas lunch for the children at Downs View every year through City Cabs and Buddies.
“It’s a great way to give something back.”
The mayor said on his Facebook page: “There was much excitement as Santa dropped in to give presents to children from Downs View School at the special Christmas lunch at Buddies 24-Hour Restaurant.
“All thanks to City Cabs 205205 Brighton Taxis for sponsoring and Brighton and Hove Bus and Coach Company for transporting the children on their Santa bus.”
Meanwhile Steve Darby and Peter Hollett from City Cabs 205205 Brighton Taxis helped Analiese Doctrove, from the Rockinghorse children’s charity, to deliver an 8ft Christmas tree to the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton.
