A young girl escaped with just bruises after being hit by a van at Palmeira Square this afternoon.
Traffic was stopped and buses diverted while emergency services dealt with the accident at 3.30pm. The roads reopened at 4pm.
A police spokeswoman said: “Emergency services were called after an 11-year-old girl pedestrian was in collision with a Peugeot van in Palmeira Square, Hove, at 3.30pm on Tuesday (29 November).
“The girl suffered bruising. The van driver was uninjured. The road was blocked for a short while but re-opened at 4pm.”
An ambulance spokesman said: “We sent ambulance crews in a car and an ambulance at the scene following reports a young girl had been hit by a vehicle. The patient didn’t require further hospital treatment.”
