By Tim Hodges from the Albion pre-match press conference
After some Sunday newspaper speciation that Brighton and Hove Albion may interested in signing ex-Chelsea and England star Frank Lampard, Chris Hughton explained to Brighton and Hove News that recruitment is not about youth or experience, but a player that improves on what you already have.
Hughton said: “We brought in Anthony Knockaert and Jiri Skalak last January and they have both done very well for us.
“You may bring in an experienced player or a younger player that you have taken a chance with but there is no doubt that an experienced player brings benefit to the squad.
“But with Bruno, Murray and Rosenior we have a lot of good experience in the squad already.”
Last season Albion signed Liam Ridgewell from MLS side Portland Timbers during the American mid winter break.
