A man was treated in hospital for a head injury after a fight in a street in Brighton.
Sussex Police said: “At about 2am on Sunday (13 November) a fight took place in Ship Street, Brighton, starting outside the Seven Stars pub and then further down the street.
“A 36-year-old Dover man, who was visiting the city with friends, was repeatedly struck around the head with the buckle of a trouser belt that another man had taken off.
“The victim sustained a cut head and was treated at the Royal Sussex County Hospital before being discharged.
“A 46-year-old Saltdean man was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm and after being interviewed was released on police bail until (Saturday) 7 January while inquiries continue.”
Detective Constable Leon Howe said: “The alleged assailant is described as being in his mid-forties, short, of muscular build, of Eastern European appearance and wearing dark clothing.”
He asked for anyone who was in the area at the time and who saw the fight to phone Sussex Police on 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 0127 of 13/11.
