Two people were taken hospital – one of them with serious injuries – after a car crashed into a tree in Portslade this afternoon (Wednesday 16 November).
Sussex Police said: “Police are appealing for witnesses after a car collided with a tree off Old Shoreham Road, in Portslade.
“Emergency services were called to the scene near to the junction with Foredown Drive at around 2.45pm.
“There were two people in the green Vauxhall Corsa. The front seat passenger, an 18-year-old local woman, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
“The driver, a 27-year-old man from Brighton, was not seriously injured but was taken to hospital as a precaution.”
Detective Constable Matt King said: “We do not believe there were any other vehicles involved and would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened before the car left the road.
“It’s a fairly busy street and it would have still been light outside. If you have any information at all, no matter how insignificant you may think it is, then please get in touch.”
