A woman has died after a head on crash involving two cars in Brighton this morning (Wednesday 2 November).
The 52-year-old woman, from Brighton, was cut from her car in Ditchling Road but paramedics were unable to save her.
Sussex Police said: “Emergency services were called to the scene near Hollingbury Park Golf Course at 9.09am where the woman’s Vauxhall Astra had been in collision with a Ford Mondeo driven by a 65-year-old man from Lancing.
“He suffered a fractured wrist but was able to escape from his car and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
“The 52-year-old woman, from Brighton, had to be cut from her vehicle by firefighters but was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.”
“The road was closed in both directions to vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians while the incident was being dealt with.”
