Police investigating a report that two boys, aged nine and 12, were sexually assaulted in an alleyway in Whitehawk, have issued a CCTV still image of the man they want to trace.
At about 7pm on Sunday (9 October) the boys were walking home from nearby shops, and as they went through an alleyway alongside Cooksbridge Road, leading to Graffham Road, a man walking towards them briefly touched both of them indecently over their clothing before running off when one of them shouted.
He is described as white, in his late twenties, with brown eyes and black hair. He was wearing a blue top and black jogging bottoms.
Detective Constable Tom Coll said; “The boys were upset but were not hurt in any way. We have been looking into this isolated incident and making detailed local enquiries.
“So far the man has not been identified, and there have been no further such reports.
“The image we have managed to obtain is very grainy, but we still feel it may jog the memories of local people.
