Police are seeking witnesses or anyone with information concerning an incident in Devil’s Dyke Road, Brighton, in which a woman was assaulted and subjected to sexual remarks.
It happened at around 5.30pm on Tuesday 13 September as the woman, 21, was hiking south towards Hove.
She passed a man sitting on the grass who got up and began following her. He then approached her, assaulted her and made sexual demands.
Fortunately a passer-by intervened and the suspect walked off. The woman was left shaken and upset by the encounter.
Her assailant is described as a white man, 30-40, overweight, balding or with a closely shaved head, a clean shaven face and a sunburned head and neck.
He was topless and wearing dirty, poorly-fitting khaki shorts. He was carrying a rucksack.
