A fish and chip van crashed on Hove seafront yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 31 August) – one of three incidents dealt with by local fire crews in the past 24 hours.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 3.48pm a fire engine from Hove attended a road traffic collision in Kingsway in Hove.
“It involved a private vehicle and a fish and chip van. No one was trapped. The vehicles were made safe.
“At 9.08pm, a fire engine from Roedean and a fire engine from Preston Circus were sent to reports of a cooker fire at Founthill Avenue, Saltdean. The gas supply was isolated.
“At 9.09pm, firefighters from Hove and Preston Circus attended an address in Fourth Avenue in Hove. They released one person who was shut in a lift.”
…and the driver was arrested for a-salt and batter-y.
