Police believe that a teenage boy who has gone missing for a second time in a fortnight may have returned to Brighton where he handed himself in earlier this week.
Sussex Police issued a public appeal for help finding Ovie Pateman this afternoon (Thursday 18 August).
The force said: “Police are searching for teenager Ovie Pateman, who is missing from Newhaven.
“The 16-year-old was last seen at his home in the town at 10.30am on Tuesday (16 August) and was reported missing when he hadn’t returned by 10.44pm that evening.
“Police believe he may have travelled to Brighton, where he was found when he went missing previously.
“Ovie is described as black, about 5ft, of heavy build, with short black Afro-style hair.”
Anyone who knows Ovie’s whereabouts is asked to phone Sussex Police on 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk.
He previously went missing at lunchtime on Friday 5 August and was reported missing that night.
The police asked for help finding him on Thursday 11 August. And the youngster went to John Street Police Station in Brighton on Monday (15 August).
A day later he disappeared again.
