A knife-wielding thug held up a woman in a Brighton street with a 6in (15cm) serrated blade but netted just £2.50.
Sussex Police said: “Officers want to hear from anyone who saw a street robbery in the city.
“Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was robbed at knifepoint in Brighton in the early hours.
“The victim was in Kemp Street at about 12.30am on Sunday 31 July when a man approached her and told her to empty her wallet.
“He was holding a knife with a 6in serrated blade. She dropped her bag and gave him £2.50 that was in the bottom of her bag before he made off.
“The woman was unhurt but shaken by her ordeal.
“The suspect is described as white, aged about 20, slim and was wearing a dark orange coloured zip-up hoody.”
