Albion beat Oxford United as the teams met for the first time in over 20 years in a pre-season friendly.
Anthony Knockaert opened the scoring for the Seagulls as he converted Jiri Skalak’s cross on 18 minutes.
Glenn Murray missed a penalty and David Stockdale made a couple of good saves before half time. Liam Rosenior went off injured right on the break.
Academy player Tom Cadman doubled Albion’s lead on 66 minutes after Tomer Hemed’s header came back of the woodwork.
Jamie Murphy and Hemed completed the rout in the final 15 minutes.
It was a good night for Albion after recent losses although the returning Dale Stephens limped off injured again in the second half.
Albion take on Lazio at the Amex this Sunday (31 July).
