A driver from Hove has been arrested after a crash in which a motorcyclist died yesterday (Thursday 21 July).
The 48-year-old man was driving a white Mercedes CLS400 when the accident happened on the A22 at Uckfield yesterday morning. He was unhurt.
Sussex Police said: “A motorcyclist has sadly died following a collision with a car on the A22 at Uckfield.
“Police were called to the incident, which occurred between the Copwood and Little Horsted roundabouts, at about 7.54am.
“An air ambulance also attended but the rider of a blue BMW K1600GT – a 59-year-old man from Herstmonceux – was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The driver of a white Mercedes CLS400 – a 48-year-old man from Hove – was uninjured. He was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
“No other people were involved in the collision.”
