Fulham 3 Brighton & Hove Albion 0
Albion lost to Championship rivals Fulham at Aldershot’s recreation ground this evening (19th July)
The main talking point however was the absence of midfielder Dale Stephens from the squad.
Stephens has been the subject of a number of bids from Premier League newcomers Burnley in recent weeks.
It was suggested Stephens suffered a knock in training.
Cauley Woodrow opened the scoring for Fulham. Ryan Sessesgon added a second.
A surprise for the Albion was the inclusion of Danny Holla.
Holla out of favour for almost two years looked a little rusty.
Richard Stearman finished off the scoring for Fulham.
Albion may have an interesting few days ahead.
The Stephens saga will no doubt gather some pace and there may still be some legs in the Russell Martin story.
Norwich defender Martin who was born in Brighton is a Scottish international. And although Albion appear to have distanced themselves from the possibility of the player joining the club, many fans will remember that speculation of Bobby Zamora joining was dismissed in some quarters. Until his memorable appearance at Lancing early last August.
