A thug attacked a 29-year-old local man in broad daylight in the street in Brighton, leaving him unconscious and with nasty injuries to his face.
Sussex Police said: “The victim was knocked to the floor and lost consciousness, sustaining a fracture to his cheek and eye socket. Nothing was stolen.”
The attack happened in Pelham Square, Brighton, at about 6.40pm on Friday (15 July).
Detective Constable James Meanwell said: “The motive for this assault has not yet been established.
“The man we want to trace made off along Trafalgar Street in the direction of Dominos in a group of about eight people.
“Anyone who was in the area and saw the offence or saw the offender before or after the incident is encouraged to contact us.”
The attacker was described as white, about 6ft tall, about 20 to 25 years old, with brown hair worn under “a farmer-style flat cap”. He was also wearing jeans, a dark beige jacket and blue Adidas trainers with white stripes.
