Workmen came up with a novel way of getting around a parked bike when digging up the road this week.

The bicycle was locked to a lamppost in John Street, Brighton, right where UK Power Networks needed to dig a hole.
So while the works were carried out, the workmen used cable ties to secure it higher up the post, allowing the work to be carried out beneath it.
A spokeswoman for UK Power Network, which carried out the work, said: “Our engineers moved the bike on Tuesday to complete work on the streetlight. This is not our normal approach and the bike was brought down the same day.”
