Whitehawk 1 Ebbsfleet 2
The Hawks with their FA Cup heroics still fresh in the memory couldn’t quite handle the pressure at home again as they lost their first leg promotion play-match at the Enclosed Ground. Against former FA Trophy winners Ebbsfleet.
Hawks had a variety of ex- Albion players in their line up. Including Tommy Fraser , Jake Robinson, Sam Rents and Sam Gargan.
But it was Stuart Lewis who put the visitors ahead just shy of the half hour mark.
That’s the way it stayed until the last 15 minutes. When former Gillingham and AFC Wimbledon striker Danny Kedwell doubled the Kent sides lead.
Just when the tie appeared to be slipping away from the Hawks, Danny Mills popped up to half the deficit on the night.
The 2nd leg is this Sunday (May 8th) at 4pm.
Brighton could have a Premier League team by then!
