Bosses at Churchill Square shopping centre are expecting more than a hundred potential pop stars to audition for the X Factor at the shopping centre this weekened.
The talent show auditions will be hitting Churchill Square on Sunday, 24 April, as producers travel the length and breadth of the country on the lookout for the next big breakout musicstars.
The Brighton auditions are a part of the show’s Mobile Audition Tour, which is visiting over 40 towns and cities across the UK.
Churchill Square Centre Director Mark Buchanan-Smith said: “We’ve had a fantastic response since we announced the auditions were being staged here again.
“More than 100 people have already declared that they’re attending, and with the incredibly talented young bands and singers in the town we’re expecting to break last year’s total of 120 auditionees,.
“X Factor represents a fantastic opportunity for people to show off their talent and everyone at the centre is looking forward to seeing if the next star of tomorrow comes from the area.”
The Mobile Auditions are open to groups or individuals aged 16 or over, and will be held from 11am until 5pm. As the auditions are held on a strictly first come first served basis, acts are advised to arrive early to avoid missing out. If they impress with their vocals, they will then be in with a chance of auditioning in front of the X Factor judges, when the judges’ auditions take place in summer.
Mark added: “In 2012, series winner James Arthur had tried out at a mobile audition so it really is a huge opportunity for budding artists and we’re proud and excited to be a part of it.”
X Factor’s Simon Cowell said: “We’re excited to start auditions again this year for X Factor. If you think you have got what it takes then why don’t you apply? And remember, one audition could change your life.”
