Traffic jams built up on a main road after one of the biggest shops in Hove shut this morning after a power cut.
The electricity went off at the West Hove Sainsbury’s superstore at about 11am promoting bosses to shut the shop.
Staff were stationed along the entrance to explain the problem to shoppers.
As a result traffic built up on the A293 link road between Old Shoreham Road and the A27 Brighton bypass and blocked the roundabout leading from the main road to the store.
One shopper said that placing staff nearer the entrance to the store would have eased the traffic build up.
The company hopes to reopen tomorrow (Monday 8 February).
The electricity went off about 01.30 ….
