Brighton & Hove Albion 3 Brentford 0
Albion beat Brentford with a solid and workmanlike performance. Anthony Knockaert scored the first goal and created the second.
Knockaert’s opener came halfway through the first half, the winger firing his first ever Albion goal from around 15 yards out.
The second came after great work from Knockaert, who delivered a superb cross which Tomer Hemed headed home.
Alan Judge had Brentford’s best chance, firing a shot which David Stockdale brilliantly palmed away from danger.
Albion strker Hemed arrowed a header goalwards.
Albion’s third goal came from a breakaway from Jamie Murphy who placed the ball past David Button as Albion ran out clear winners.
