The Albion have signed another member of the 2002/3 squad as Stoke midfielder Steve Sidwell joins on-loan until the end of the season.
Sidwell played for the Seagulls between October 2002 and January 2003. Scoring five times in just twelve appearances, including a last gasp equaliser at home to Burnley in December 2002.
Albion tried in vain to sign Sidwell at that time, being out bid by Reading and despite a promised contribution from the forty-note fund. A co-operative set up by fans in which members would donate forty pounds to help the then cash strapped Seagulls sign new players.
Sidwell will join up with ex team mate Bobby Zamora who he also played with at Fulham.
Zamora has had a superb return to the Albion, after also rejoining after twelve years a way.
Current physio Paul Watson, match host and AITC coach Guy Butters and goalkeeping coach Ben Roberts, were also Albion players when Sidwell was last at the Albion.
Sidwell could make his 2nd Albion debut against one of his former clubs Brentford at the Amex on 5 February.
