A man was left unconscious with head and facial injuries after being robbed in Churchill Square, Brighton, early this morning (Friday 8 January).
Sussex Police said: “Witnesses are being sought after a man was attacked and robbed in Brighton city centre earlier today
“At around 3.45am police were called to Churchill Square, Brighton, where a 22-year-old man from Shoreham had been found unconscious with head and facial injuries.
“The man was unable to explain what had happened to him but officers found that he had property missing, presumed stolen.
“The man was taken by ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, where he received treatment and was later released.
“Two men believed to have been involved were seen running off down Cranbourne Street.
“Local inquiries led officers to a city hotel where two men, both aged 23, were arrested on suspicion of robbery.
“A 22-year-old woman who was also present was arrested on suspicion of obstructing police.
“All three are currently in police custody, pending further inquiries.”
