1) Albion’s opener was almost certainly the fastest goal of Bobby Zamora’s professional career but it was still 40 seconds behind Beram Kayal’s opener against Huddersfield back in August.
2) Ex-Seagulls strike force Sam Vokes and Ashley Barnes sat next to each other in the main stand. Referee Simon Hooper sent Barnes off for tripping him up when Albion played at Bolton in 2013. Barnes received a seven-match ban. Jose Mourinho went on about it last season for a day or so.
3) Albion went back to the top of the Championship for just over three minutes and currently sit level on points with Hull City although Albion have a nine-goal deficit.
4) Daniel Akindayini made his first appearance in the first team squad wearing number 34 – Albion’s highest shirt number.
5) Bobby Zamora last scored for the Albion at Turf Moor just 4,852 days ago. At least he’s trying.
