A second phase of work is under way at Churchill Square Shopping Centre, in Brighton.
H&M and Sole Trader are undergoing refurbishment to bring their façades in line with the rest of the shopping centre frontage.
H&M is closed for trade to allow for the shop front improvements and an extension to the store to be built.
Sole Trader remains open while significant alterations to the front of the store take place.
Last year double-height glass shop fronts were built on the Western Road frontage for existing stores BHS, Burtons and Dorothy Perkins. And a 32,000 sq ft Topshop and Topman store was created.
Mark Buchanan-Smith, centre director for Churchill Square, said: “New work to the front of the centre is progressing well.
“Once finished, Churchill Square will have a smart new look, fitting for a city like Brighton.”
The scheduled completion dates for the works are next month (November) for Sole Trader and next spring for H&M.
