Brighton and Hove City Council has chosen interim boss Geoff Raw as the new chief executive.
He was picked by a panel today (Tuesday 20 October) after a two-day selection process.
Four people were shortlisted from 11 applicants on the long list. Three were interviewed.
His appointment to the £150,000 a year post is expected to be ratified at a meeting of the full council at the Brighton Centre on Thursday (22 October).
Mr Raw, the council’s director of environment, development and housing, joined the council five years ago.
He replaces Penny Thompson, who let the council in June. Her departure cost the council £270,000
Penny Thompson “let” the Council? Surely that is what the new Administration will be doing with its outsourcing.
Wonder if this one will make 2 years. What’s the going rate for that job? Best part of half a million payoff when being chucked out.
